As the founder of Vavilon Style, the NYC-based bridal hair and makeup artist recently conceived and produced a distinctive editorial aboard a sailboat in New York Harbor, transforming the city’s iconic skyline and open water into a sophisticated setting for modern bridal beauty.
Moving beyond the expected studio environment, Valeria designed the shoot around movement, light and the natural atmosphere of New York Harbor. For the bride, she created radiant, refined makeup paired with a timeless low bun, allowing the model’s natural features to remain at the centre of the look while complementing the gown and the surrounding landscape. The result was elegant without feeling overly constructed a balance that defines Valeria’s approach.
Working on the water also introduced a practical challenge: wind, humidity and constant movement. Valeria approached these conditions as part of the creative process, ensuring that the beauty remained polished and camera-ready throughout the shoot. With five years of professional experience, Valeria works with brides in NYC and destination locations, including Puerto Rico during the winter season. Through Vavilon Style, she creates personalized beauty concepts based on each client’s features, hair texture, personal aesthetic, gown and wedding environment. For larger celebrations, she leads a professional beauty team, coordinating schedules and maintaining a consistent creative direction across brides, mothers and bridesmaids.
